London Oval Travelodge

Located just metres away from Oval Tube Station and opposite the famous Kia Oval Cricket Ground, this 95-bedroom hotel will be Travelodge’s 81st in London and its 600th hotel in the UK, Ireland and Spain.

London Oval Travelodge will also be the first new build hotel to feature Travelodge’s latest product, Bar 85 – a contemporary, stylish bar and restaurant area designed for the modern budget traveller.

After exchanging contracts with Surrey County Cricket Club in 2019, it was in November 2020 that the Club completed its freehold acquisition of the famous Ovalhouse Theatre (which has now relocated to Brixton) and received planning approval to develop a new Travelodge hotel on the site.

The hotel’s construction commenced in January this year and the hotel will open in Q1 2024 and feature memorabilia from Surrey County Cricket Club in the new 85 Bar Cafe, paying homage to the area’s local history and the club’s association with the hotel.

Colchester Northern Gateway Travelodge

The 90-bedroom hotel, which will be Travelodge’s 14th hotel in Essex, is located at Colchester Northern Gateway Leisure Park.

The new leisure park adjoins Colchester United FC and David Lloyd sports complex and includes a 12-screen Cineworld cinema, Hollywood bowl, Puttstars Indoor Golf, Jump Street climbing centre and 9 restaurants.

The Northern Gateway is a major residential and commercial expansion area to the north of the city, which also includes the Colchester Sports Park, a 76 acre site providing indoor and outdoor sports and leisure activities, including a 1-mile, floodlit cycle and pump track and the home of Colchester Rugby Club.

Turnstone Estates is developing this leisure scheme, with funding having been facilitated by a lease-wrapper deal with Colchester Borough Council. This is Travelodge’s 25th hotel opening involving some form of partnership deal with a Local Authority.

A new Travelodge opening supports Local Authorities’ key agendas to invest in their economies and encourage regeneration projects, attracting thousands of new visitors to their areas, who spend hundreds of thousands of pounds in the local shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and attractions. Travelodge has a proven track record of working with forward-thinking Local Authorities across the UK, spearheading regional economic growth and providing a solid, long-term revenue stream.

Colchester Northern Gateway Travelodge will be opening in early 2024.

London Beckenham is part of a mixed-use scheme developed by Dunward Properties, which includes a bar and residential units on site. The new hotel is scheduled to open in March 2024.

London Bermondsey

Centrally located near to Tower Bridge and the Shard, London Bermondsey Travelodge will be a 73-bedroom hotel that represents further growth for Travelodge in central London. The hotel is directly opposite the Maltby street market and only a ten-minute walk from London Bridge, making it the ideal location for business and leisure travellers alike.

The new hotel is being developed by Deco Design & Build and will open in Q1 2024.
